Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application procedure.

Applications are now open and can shut on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must meet the following requirements:

• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home having a combined gross house earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined household cash flow does not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients automatically qualify for funding and need not post any evidence of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

Applicants are reminded to supply the right Identity Document numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are studying or plan to study at a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.

All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.

Learners do not check here have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and read more avoid delays in the processing of their application.
